Water shares

Water share applications (including applications to transfer, divide and transfer, vary, divide, and to consolidate water shares) must be made using an approved form. The application forms that must be lodged at your water corporation are available here.

Applications to transfer a water share

If the water corporation approves your application to transfer your water share you will then need to apply to the Water Registrar to record the transfer. Further details about the Water Registrar’s recording process are available here.

Allocation trade

Applications to trade allocation must be in the approved form and lodged with the water corporation. Application forms to trade allocation are available here.

Relinquishing allocation * NEW*

Entitlement holders can now apply to relinquish allocation if they do not wish to carry over their unused water at the end of the season.

Take and use licences

Each water corporation has their own application forms relating to requests to issue, transfer and renew take and use licences. These forms are available from the water corporations’ websites.
