The Victorian Water Register, including My Water and the Broker Portal, will close for end-of-year processing at 12 noon Tuesday 30 June 2026. Services will re-open at 9 am 1 July 2026.

Important information regarding times and dates for the July 2026 trade openings will be provided soon.

If you are trading allocation or water shares before the end of the water year, please be aware of the important dates and times below. There is no guarantee that applications submitted after these times will be processed in the 2025–26 water year.

For allocation trades

• Paper-based applications to trade allocation interstate must be lodged with the water corporation by 5 pm on 16 June 2026.
• Paper-based applications to trade allocation within Victoria must be lodged with the water corporation by 5 pm on 23 June 2026.
• Online applications to trade allocation within Victoria must be submitted before 12 noon on 30 June 2026 for processing in the 2025–26 water year.
• Online applications to trade allocation interstate will be processed manually from 5 pm on Friday 26 June 2026.

For water share transfer applications

• Applications for water share transfers must be lodged with the water corporation by 5 pm on Tuesday 16 June 2026.
• Please keep in mind that the water corporation’s approval of the transfer is only stage one of the water share transfer transaction process. Once approved, seller(s) and buyer(s) are required to sign the Transfer of Water Share form and submit to the Water Registrar for recording.
• Applications to record water share transfers must be lodged with the Water Registrar by 5 pm on Wednesday 24 June 2026. There is no guarantee that applications submitted after this time will be recorded in the 2025–26 water year. Learn more about lodging with the Water Registrar on the Registrar website.
• You are reminded that when a water share transfer is recorded, the seller's allocation account will no longer be linked to that water share. Unused water allocation can only be carried over to the next water year if the allocation account is linked to an appropriate water share.
